ABOUT THE INTEGRITY 1ST SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
WALKING THE TALK... |
A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON THE SCHOLARSHIP'S ORIGIN AND PURPOSE
FROM RANDE SOMMA
"As a way to "give back" and promote my passion for the importance and value of integrity, my wife and I partnered with my alma mater Robert Morris University to establish the Integrity First Scholarship Program.
The program was initially launched in 2008 (this past July we celebrated the 12th annual event).
Each year students are presented with a case study, which provides some questionable ethical and/or moral circumstances. Students who enter the annual scholarship contest are presented with a series of questions regarding the case. In response, they submit essays establishing how they would address the dilemma.
In 2019 over 70 essays were submitted. The Business School faculty selected the best 12. After evaluation of the 12, my wife and I selected the five scholarship recipients. This year, 2020, five students were selected to be scholarship recipients.
Since its inception my wife and I have donated $400,000.00 to the Integrity First Program and have awarded scholarships to over 50 Business School students."
